The Bangladesh National Museum 

The Bangladesh National Museum preserves and displays the cultural property and heritage, as well as specimens of natural history of Bangladesh. Its mission is to establish a bridge between the past and the present and uphold the national tradition and culture. It is located at Shahbag, Dhaka. The museum was formally inaugurated on 20 March, 1913.

Note: It is situated in Shahbag, Dhaka – 1000. You can reach there by bus, CNG, rent – a- car,taxi or your private transportation.



The University of Dhaka 

The University of Dhaka is the oldest and the largest university in Bangladesh. The University is a public university situated in the heart of Dhaka city, the capital of Bangladesh. Today, there are 13 faculties, 66 departments, 9 i nstitutes, 34 research centres. The university campus includes the statue ‘Aparajeyo Bangla’, Jatiya Shahid Minar, The Curzon Hall which is a beautiful architectural building named after Lord Curzon and many other spots.

Dhakeshwari Temple 

Dhakeshwari Temple – is the National Temple of Bangladesh is an 11th-century Hindu temple and the most important place of Hindu worship in Bangladesh. The temple hosts the annual festival of Durga Puja. Durga Puja attracts thousands of worshippers and dignitaries from the President to media celebrities.The Dhakeshwari temple was built in the 12th century by Ballal Sen, a king of the Sena dynasty, and many say the name of the city was coined after this temple.


Note: It is situated in Old Dhaka . You can reach there by bus, CNG, rent – a- car,taxi or your private transportation.



Armenian Church 

This church was established in 1781. It is two century old Armenian Church in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. Now there is only one Armenian residing at Dhaka and he is in charge of this church. The church supports a small Christian community from several countries that meets every Sunday evening. The Armenians were once at the heart of Bengal’s jute and leather trade but the community has virtually vanished.

Sonargaon 

Sonargaon is one of the oldest capitals of Bengal. It was the seat of Deva Dynasty until the 13th century.At Jainal Abedin Museum in Sonargaon, you will find some historical and archeological things. Among the ancient mon uments still intact are the Tomb of Sultan Ghiasuddin (1399-1409 A. D), the shrines of Panjpirs and Shah Abdul Alia and a beautiful mosque in Goaldi village.

Note : You can reach Sonargaon by CNG, taxi cab, rent-a-car, bus. The bus services are -Borak , Sonargaon express which will leave from Gulisthan, Dhaka . the museum remain closed at Thrusday.



National Martyrs' Memorial 

It is the symbol of the valour and the sacrifice of those killed in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which brought the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistani rule. It is a symbol of Bengali nationalism. The Monument tower designed by Arch Syed Mainul Hussain is composed of seven isosceles triangular planes, each varying in size in its height and base.The highest point of the structure reaches 150 feet. Several mass-graves and a pool of water body are placed in front of the monument.

Note: You can reach at Savar from anywhere of Dhaka- by bus, CNG, taxi cab, rent-a-car.



Moinamoti, Comilla 

Where you will find the historical things found in Lalmai & Moinamoti of 7th & 8th centuries. The Mainamati site Museum has a rich and varied collection of copper plates, gold and silver coins and 86 bronze objects. Over 150 bronze statues have been recovered mostly from the monastic cells, bronze stupas, stone sculptures and hundreds of terracotta plaques. Mainamati is only 114 km. from Dhaka City and is just a day's trip by road on way to Chittagong.

Note: There are luxurious coach services from Dhaka to Comilla town which take About 2 hours. To visit Mainamati, one has to get down from the coach Near Mainamati Cantonment and then take a rickshaw or any local Transport to reach Mainamati Lalmai hills. It is also possible to hire Rent-A-Car or a Microbus from Dhaka to visit Mainamati.Museum is open Sunday-Friday and closed on Saturday.

 


Mymensingh 

Mymensingh - is a city of Bangladesh situated on the river Brahmaputra. Greater Mymensingh lies from the foot of the Garo Hills in the north down to the plains of Dhaka. There are many aboriginal tribes such as Garos, Hajongs and Kochis. Visit the national park and game sanctuary at Madhupur. There are a number of reserve forests in the area with rest houses and picnic spots. World famous painter Zainul Abedin's Art Gallery at Mymensingh carries the boyhood memories of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The city is known for Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh handcrafted duvet called Nakshikantha and a rural ballad called Moimonsingho Geetika.

Note: There are bus services from Mohakahali ,Dhaka. Train services are also available from komolapur rail station Dhaka to reach Mymensingh.



Sylhet 

Sylhet has a history of conquests and heritage from different types of cultures. The city is described as a City of Saints, with the mausoleum of the great saint Hazrat Shah Jalal, who brought Islam to Bengal during the 14th century, being located here. Jaflong is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Sylhet division. Sripur is another beautiful tourist spot where you can see the waterfall with great tide falling form the hills. Srimongal is the place of tea gardens, hills and forest areas on the hills being situated in sylhet.

Note: There are available bus , train, and air services to go to Sylhet from Dhaka.


 

Srimongol 

Srimongol is the tea capital in Bangladesh. The velvet carpet of the tea-plants enhances the beauty of Srimongol in Sylhet. Srimongol also famous as the 'c amelia' houses the largest tea-estate in the world. The terraced tea-gardens along with rich vegetation of rubber, pineapple and lemon plantations form a stunning landscape which is hard to find. As you enter the tea-gardens the sweet smells of the tea-plants will greet you along with spectacular beauty.

 



Sundarban 

The Sundarban - is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The name Sundarban can be literally translated as "beautiful jungle" or "beautiful forest" .The name may have been derived from the Sundari trees that are found in Sundarbans in large numbers. There is a National Park, Tiger Reserve, UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans delta in the Indian state of West Bengal. This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger. It is also home to a variety of bird, reptile and invertebrate species, including the salt-water crocodile.

Note: You can reach Shundarban by bus, train, river vessels, air etc.



Jamuna resort 

Jamuna resort - The magnificent and a full serviced luxury Jamuna Resort is uniquely located along the bank of the legendary Jamuna River at the eastern approach of Jamuna bridge in a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city, It is situated in the backdrop of a lash green Bangladeshi villages and the breathtaking view of the legendary river nestled among forest greenery in a secluded site. The spot can be considered as one of the most scenic in the country. The comfort and charm of the resort and its fittings complements the natural beauty and wonder of the surroundings.

Note: The distance from the Zia International Airport is only 80 Km.Resort directly from the highway. Guests driving their own car will find a very easy access through highway. Even the train station (IBRAHIMABAD) is located within the resort which provides great convenience.



Padma Resort 

As now a day, Tourism is intensely increasing in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh people visit to different resort for picnic and spending the vacation time along with their family. Padma Resort is nice place to visit. They have sixteen 2-s torey cottages. Each cottage has a living room, a mezzanine floor, two verandas, a tiles-clad washroom, and a 2-bed room. The resort has successfully survived SIDR. They also have a restaurant.Car parking space is abundant at the Louhajung Thana (across the river) from where the Resort operates a large trawler to and from the Resort every 30 minutes. The ride takes about three minutes.

Note: Padma Reosrt Situated at the infront of LOHAJONG Police Station. 6 Kilometer East from the Mowa Point towards Monshigonj. You can go to Mawa Ghat by bus, then there is a small journey by boat and it will reach u at Padma resort.



Dhanbari Resort 

Royal Resort, the heritage Resort in Bangladesh, is situated on the Modhupur–Jamalpur highway at the well known Dhanbari Municipality of Tangail district in Bangladesh. Tourists are welcome to enjoy the royal experience within secured surroundings.There are large dighis (ponds) for boating and fishing. Some horses are available and horse riding can also be a pleasant past time. For outdoor games, there are two huge playgrounds. In the sprawling gardens there are badminton courts and facilities for indoor games. There are several picnic spots within the Resort. From the resort tourists can visit the Tribal area, rubber and pineapple plantations, national park, magnificent madhupur forest, and the jamuna multipurpose bridge.

Note: Direct buses leave Mahakhali bus stand at Dhaka for Dhanbari every 15 minutes. The closest railway station from this resort is 18 miles away at Jamalpur which is a district headquarter where buses, cars and microbuses are available on rent.



Pubail Resort 

Note: Just 30mins from Uttara/Tangi to Gorasal Road... There are 3 rail Crossing on this road. You need to go the No. 3 rail crossing. And only about 3 Kilometer (Left Side) from this 3rd no. rail gate.



Bandarban 

Bandarban is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh. It’s a part of the Chittagong Division and Chittagong Hill Tracts. Lots of hills and hilly areas, waterfalls, River Sangu, Chimbik etc are the main attraction of Bandarban. Chimbuk hill is one of the major attractions of Bandarban. The journey to Chimbuk Hill goes by jig jag hilly roads. It’s the third highest mountain in Bangladesh of approx. 3000 ft height. In consideration of cultural aspect, the tribal culture is very influencing in Bandarban region. The waterfall named Shoilo Propat at Milanchari is also a wonderful site to visit. Meghla in Bandarban is another tourist spot; it is a beautiful spot where you can enjoy boat or speedboat riding on the lake Meghla.

Note: A direct bus ride from Dhaka is the simplest way to go to Bandarban .It will take 6 hours to reach there. Dolphin, Saudia and S Alam are the bus services that run daily to Bandarban from Dhaka.



Rangamati 

Rangamati : 77 km far distance from Chittagong connected by waterway from Kaptai. Natural waterfalls, tribal villages, Chakma Rajbari, Rajbonbihar pagoda, Tribal museum tribal handicrafts etc are the mentionable beauties of Rangamati. If you visit Rangamati you will discover a big portion of natural beauties of Bangladesh. From Chittagong a 77 km. road amidst green fields and winding hills will take you to Rangamati. It is also connected by waterway from Kaptai.

Note: The safe and easy way to go Rangam ati is By Bus. Availble Luxurious bus services are from Gabtoli & Saidabad terminal to start for Rangamati. It will take almost 8 hours to reach Rangamati from Dhaka.



Khagrachari 

Khagrachari is a valley. It has three rivers namely Chengi, Kasalong and Maini. Chengi is the longest river in Khagrachari and most of the land of Khagrachari is hilly areas. Alutila, Matai Pukuri, Aronno Kutir, Chengi Bridge, Dighinala Jhulonto Bridge, Richang jharna are the major tourist spot in Khagrachori. Along with the natural beauty the most of the Chakma tribes are found in Khagrachori. Also Approximately 100 meters long a very dark Cave is the mysterious beauty of Alutila hill, Khagrachori.

 



Foy's lake 

Foy's Lake is an artificial lake in Chittagong. Foy's Lake was dug during the year 1924 and was named after the Railway engineer Foy. Concord Entertainment Co. Ltd. has taken over the Foy's Lake, in the year 2004 to develop it as one of the attractive tourist spot in Bangladesh. Major tourist attraction of Foy's Lake has been spited into 3 parts

1. Foy's Lake Amusement world
2. Foy's Lake Resort,
3. Sea world Foy's Lake

The theme park Foy’s Lake has rides and facilities suitable for people of all ages and it also has a resort hotel to accommodate the night stay and enjoy the vacation period of people.

Note: Direct bus services, Air services and Rail services are available from Dhaka to Chittagong. Within Chittagong CNG’s, local bus, Rickshaws are available to go to Foy’s Lake.



Cox's Bazaar 

Cox’s Bazaar is the most famous tourist spot both locally and internationally for the longest sea beach in the world. Cox’s Bazaar has several other attractions, including: Laboni Beach, Himchari, Enani Beach. Apart from the beaches some other tourist spot are Aggmeda Khyang, Ramu, Barmiz Market etc. Every year lots of foreign & local tourist come to spend their vacation in Cox’s Bazaar. It is very exciting to travel over the sea beach from Cox’s bazaar to Himchori and Inani by a Jeep called Chander gari. Himchori is famous for waterfall and Inani beach is famous for the rock and coral boulders.

Note: From Dhaka one can go to Cox’s Bazar by various bus services available from Arambagh, and Malibagh bus counters. Rail and air services are also available from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar



St. Martin's Island 

St. Martin's Island is a small island in the northeast part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf peninsula, and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh. The white beaches are popula r amongst travelers, and they are beautifully lined with tall coconut trees and crystal clear waters that creep onto the sand. Coral reef, turtles are really very attractive here. Chera-dwip is another appeal of St. Martin's Island.

Note: To go to St. Martins Island from Dhaka at first one has to start with a direct bus down to Cox's Bazar. And then fromCox's Bazar he/she need to take another bus to Teknaf . From Teknaf, ships run daily and take almost 3 hours.
